Ranferi Aguilar comes to the San Francisco Bay Area with his new group Los Hacedores de Lluvia (The Rain Makers). The group focuses on traditional and fusion music that reconstructs the sounds of the Mayan culture with melodies created for traditional wind and percussion instruments blended with the guitar creating new arrangements of ancient sounds. His fusion of modern and pre-Hispanic sounds proposes a subjective communion with the spiritual world. Ana Nitmar will begin the evening along with Berkeley based Ixim Tinamit (People of Corn) Marimba Ensemble. Guatemalan musician and teacher, Julio Landoni will present a wide variety of musical genres that will be played by his marimba ensemble. The performance promises to display the marimbas versatility, featuring musical genres as diverse as the waltz, bolero, cumbia, 6X8, vocal arrangements as well as the Son Guatemalteco.

Ranferi Aguilar comes to the San Francisco Bay Area with his new group Los Hacedores de Lluvia (The Rain Makers). The group focuses on more traditional and fusion music that reconstructs the sounds of the Mayan culture with melodies created for traditional wind and percussion instruments blended with the guitar creating new arrangements of ancient sounds. His fusion of modern and pre-Hispanic sounds proposes a subjective communion with the spiritual world. His musical propose consists of several years of experimentation with the sounds of present day mud whistles, tinajas, snail trumpets, ceramic drums, tortoise shells and other extinct pre-Hispanic instruments. Steady percussion and vocals that emanate from their own depth accompany these sounds. Ranferi Aguilar's ethno fusion style promises to take the audience into an inward experience that surpasses the mere act of listening. Ranferi is a Guatemalan national treasure whose work and positive energy brings a spiritual awakening to audiences and communities.

Ana Nitmar a San Francisco Bay Area resident and Guatemalan native is a musical collaborator and presenter of the Guatemalan folklore. Ana Nitmar is a unique singer with an amazing melodic voice. She combines and centers the folkloric musical tradition with the cultural heritage in her performances. Ana is a recording artist well known within the Guatemalan community. She performs frequently at cultural festivals, benefit events, theater events, and various ethnic celebrations. She takes pride in maintaining alive the traditions of her homeland through music and folklore.
